Wilder is located north of Stillwater MN, in a secluded wooded setting (though there are residences nearby). SNOPA was last held here in 1994, and it's remembered fondly. There's a Commons building, where dining and dancing take place in the same space (again, some table moving.) Linoleum now covers the wood floor: there's a masonry fireplace. Sun Lodge sleeps 44 in 6 dorm rooms with bunks; it has a lounge area, and bathrooms/showers. It's a short walk to the Commons. There are other lodging buildings as well. Wilder is a very nice facility with a cozy feel; no need for motel alternatives. Unless we can persuade Wilder Foundation otherwise, it would be a full-weekend-registration event only.
Wilder no longer conducts programming here, so there's minimal staff. We'd do our own food, perhaps having one or two meals catered (we are working on how to do food). Alcohol is not allowed under camp rules, though it's a bit of a "don't ask, don't tell" situation so wine at social hour might happen. If we are reasonably quiet late, there would be no dance curfew.
There are trails, but they are not groomed. William O'Brien State Park is a few miles away, with 12 miles of groomed ski trails (Minnesota ski pass, $5 daily $15 annual, plus park entry sticker or $7 daily pass).
